The hospital was due for closure and the property was surplus to requirements. JPW Real Estate provided initial advice on the long leasehold interest, minimising void outgoings and an outstanding rent review before commencing a marketing campaign to find a new occupier.
A number of alternative uses were evaluated and an extensive marketing campaign was undertaken. Negotiations also took place with the freeholder and in 2009 terms were agreed for a surrender of the long lease to the landlord.
